Assignment 4 - project brief

So this project is all about showing the character of a place and of the people who live there.- the kind of approach taken for an intelligent, thoughtful travel publication. I need to come up with a strong selection of twelve images with as much visual variety as possible from which I select a final six - eight images. 

I've chosen Albert Road  in Portsmouth as my subject. What kind of place is this area ? Is it still  ' Bohemian, contemporary, highly diverse and unique to Portsmouth'?

What do I want to do here? 

Range of images:

These will need to explore a variety of subject matter and scale including :

• range and function of the buildings and spaces 
• how people are using these buildings and spaces e.g. traders ( how they themselves showcase the area through their buildings ) , customers
• the kind of people who live, work and visit the area e.g. age range? occupation / interest - a sense of who these people are if possible
• the kind of activities that go on
• the viability of the area as a showcase for the local trade association?

• use of space and light
