Assignment 4 - selection of images

Finding it hard to select the final images ....

I'm looking to chose  about six to eight final images from at least twice this number. They need to be good, publishable images to fill about six pages of a travel publication. Having taken many images over a period of weeks,I made the first cut by focusing on these areas : 

Street scenes / art
Activities
Cafe culture 
Traders
People

I very briefly toyed with the idea of black and white images to see if this lent anything towards creating a real sense of place :

But this only seemed to work for  few images and not for others. So I decided to stick with colour images given the intended destination is a travel article focusing on Albert Road. A sense of place here is as much determined by the colourful decoration of buildings as by the people and their use of space within Albert Road.

Trying then to refine the selection down from the point of view of writing an article, I ended up with 18 publishable images:

These images are a mixture of portrait and landscape bearing in mind the article may well be portrait rather than landscape in design. Thinking of the handwritten texts created by Duane Michals, I need to consider whether there is any information not conveyed by these images that might need a 'caption' of sorts.
